Road 73 Bypass Trail Volunteer Day
October 1, 2022 @ 8:30 am - 2:30 pm
Come help us rebuild the Road 73 Bypass Trail above Tahoe City! Join us from 8:30am – 2:30pm as we work our way from the bottom of Stumpy Super G to the top of The Great Race Trail (Woop-dee-doo). An old alignment used to exist in this vicinity, but we’ll be rebuilding it in a more sustainable and fun manner.
Tired of having to ride / run / hike on pavement between the trails of Stumpy Super G, The Great Race Tr. (Whoopdeedoo Tr.), and the TRT? Well then this project is for you. It has been 6 years since rebuilding this connection was formally proposed, and now is the time to make it happen, but we’ll need your help!
If you plan to attend, please RSVP and fill out our Trail Day waiver . If you plan to bring a minor, please fill out our minor waiver as well. Please choose “Road 73 Bypass” as the trail location and be sure to select the correct day you plan to attend.
We’ll meet here (Tahoe City Community Center, 221 Fairway Dr.) at 8:30am before carpooling into the worksite. We will drive up a Forest Service dirt road. All wheel drive vehicles with ground clearance are recommended (Subaru Outbacks can make it). Alternatives are to drive in on the Fiberboard 73 paved road from Brockway Summit (10 miles in on the 73), or bike in. Contact john@tamba.org if you choose one of the alternates, so we know to expect you.
