  • The US Government might be shut down and our Volunteer Service Agreements are on hold, but there’s one particularly successful Agreement we entered into with The Forest Service this summer we’d like to share. This agreement funded the purchase of new materials for the replacement of the Armstrong Trail bridge destroyed by snow two years ago. TAMBA ordered the materials and had them delivered to the FS maintenance yard, construction will start next year after the snow melts. Stay tuned for volunteer opportunities next summer to help. From The Forest Service: “Background: The Forest Service and TAMBA have a history of partnership and shared success in the design, maintenance and management of public trails located on the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit. TAMBA contributes over 3000 hours of volunteer service annual, as well as financial support and cost sharing on specific projects. This agreement represents a financial and labor commitment by each party to accomplish replacement of a failed trail bridge.” #buildbridges #buildtrails #TAMBAtahoe

  • This year TAMBA rerouted an erosive logging era road into a sustainable, stunning, and fun trail on the West Shore, brought awesome new trails to both sides of Mt. Rose, and started an ambitious and insanely beautiful project on the South Shore. We added expert level options to the Stinger Trail and helped little kids on striders crush the pump track at the Bijou Bike Park. And installed new trail signage on North and South shore.
