In late October 2023, TAMBA hosted its inaugural Women’s Trail Day at Tunnel Creek Bypass. Our goal was to offer an open, welcoming environment to those who identify as Femme, Transgender, Woman, and Non-Binary to get involved in trail work on one of our major 2023 projects.
And what a day it was! Our group was treated to ideal October conditions that allowed us to complete trail work focused on brushing, cutting out roots, and developing a berm turn. We built 500 ft of new trail that morning alone, making huge strides in the exciting Tunnel Creek Bypass Project which, once completed, will offer a multi-purpose singletrack alternative to Tunnel Creek Road.
Following the morning’s trail work, we celebrated our efforts with snacks and refreshments, hosted by valued TAMBA supporters Craig and Liz Olson. The Olsons’ exceptional hospitality (and excellent Halloween decorations) rounded off a fantastic day on the trails. A huge thank you to all those who joined us and contributed to making the day such a success!
