The Kirkwood Mountain Classic was a success

Kirkwood Mountain Classic race start

Thanks for everyone that showed up and supported TAMBA! We had 102 in the cross-country and 14 in the Super-D! The courses were both superb. The cross country went through alpine meadows full of wildflowers, small creek crossings, had a brand new wooden wall ride that the Kirkwood staff built just for the race, and finished with a lap through their new pump track! The Super-D course was changed at the last minute to use trails that had only melted out in the last week. It was rad! The Lemans start was exciting, the patch of snow they had to ride over claimed a few victims, the reports from the riders was that it was awesome! Thanks to the Kirkwood bike park staff and the TAMBA volunteers for making this happen! We also continued the Zero-Waste commitment of the Sierra Cup Series. This event had a 92% diversion rate, generating only 4.4 lbs of actual trash for the landfill. And most of that trash was imported to the event. Thanks to everyone that bought TAMBA T-shirts and memberships at the event! Between that and the event registration, we raised about $1000 for TAMBA! Results are posted on the Reno Wheelmen website and several pics are available on the Sierra Cup facebook page.
