The new Upper Angora Ridge Trail is open! This one mile trail starts where the Mule Deer Connector ends near the lookout on Angora Lakes Road and connects to theAngora Lakes parking lot. Snow is minimal on Upper Angora Ridge and the subsequent path up to the lakes. Enjoy some awesome views at these spectacular lakes while the road is closed for the season and before the snow gets too deep.
Work on two new trails has begun.
Lower Angora Ridge: This trail will connect Tahoe Mountain Road to the fire roads behind the horse stables near Camp Richardson.
Angora Ridge Connector: This trail will connect Lower Angora Ridge Trail to Middle Angora Ridge Trail. Due to private and state property surrounding the terminus of Middle Angora Ridge, we cannot continue Lower Angora Ridge where Middle Angora Ridge ends. Instead we will build a connecting trail on the south side of Tahoe Mountain Rd through Forest Service property to a location where we can safely cross Tahoe Mountain Rd. and continue with Lower Angora Ridge on the immediate north side. Visit our calendar for upcoming trail work dates.
