Rose to Toads Ride 2013

By September 23, 2013No Comments

The fresh snowy conditions for Rose to Toads 2013 made this a ride we’ll be talking about for many years to come.  Special, magical, amazing, and just wow were said over and over… with the occasional gripe about soggy clothes once the sun came out to melt the snow and get us muddy wet.  The pace was slow, the vibe was high, and it was fun riding with everyone at some point.  Some of us are still picking pieces of sand from our eyes and grit in our teeth, souvineers of an epic day.

If you’re interested in stats we’re still waiting for some final reports, but we had about 45 people start on Mount Rose at Tahoe Meadows, about 12 people finished at Toads (a few pushing darkness), and the rest completing at Van Sickle, Star Lake and Armstrong.

Thanks to the Jenay and Alison with Lake Tahoe Yoga for working the two rest stops along with Joe M – the hot coco and cup o soups were our savior.  Thanks for the discounted shuttles from Max Jones at Flume Trail Bikes, and from Joe with Shuttle Around Tahoe – and thanks to all the good folks that support TAMBA, we put this ride on to get more members and bring more awareness of the Tahoe trails…  Oh, and to have a super fun time too!
