TAMBA partners with Trailforks to provide the most current trail conditions possible. TAMBA crew leaders, members, and local riders regularly update the conditions reports on local trails.

Trail Operations Notice: Caution Advised
Active operations are ongoing through the summer. Although there is no formal trail closure planned this year, temporary closures and traffic delays may occur to ensure public safety. These interruptions are similar to those previously implemented on the Corral and Sidewinder trails recently.
  • Trails Impacted:  Armstrong Pass, Armstrong Connector, Apache, Corral, Cowboy Connector, Fountain Place, Sidewinder, Incense Cedar, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, Saxon Creek Trail, Saxon Connector, and Warr Trails
  • Active Unit: Crews are currently working Monday through Saturday.
  • Safety Measures: Trails may be temporarily closed, and traffic may be halted when operations encroach on open trails, particularly during tree felling.
Please use caution and be aware of your surroundings.

Please email info@tamba.org to report any major issues regarding trail conditions. The faster we know about obstacles blocking trails the faster we can take care of them.

Nearby Riding Options

Here’s some more riding options nearby :

  • Genoa, NV – There’s about 12 miles of newly-built single along with a new connector trail up to the Rim Trail near the Bench.  Only a 25 minute drive from South Lake Tahoe.  For a map, check out the Carson Valley Trails Association. This volunteer group has done an amazing job getting these trails built.  Support them.
  • Reno, NV – Plenty to ride on Peavine and at the base of Mount Rose (Whites Creek and Thomas Creek).
  • Pinenuts, NV – On the east side of the Carson Valley there’s a ton of trails for dirt bikes, mountain bikes, and horses. Get some gps tracks first or you might get lost. It gets hot and dusty out there in the summer, but time it right in the winter, spring, or fall and the riding is really fun.
  • Auburn, CA – Perennial favorite for winter riding about a two-hour’s drive from Tahoe.
  • Sly Park, CA – Just off highway 50 near Placerville.  There’s some good loops out there.  About an hour from South Lake Tahoe.
  • Downieville, CA – A true classic.  More info on the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship page.
