Corral Night Ride
This year’s Corral Night Ride will be FREE to all TAMBA members as our way to thank you for your ongoing support! Members can register here using the access code we emailed out in mid-September.
Scheduled for Saturday, October 12 this year, Corral Night Ride is a crazy fun night of biking in the dark with your friends while wearing your most creative costume. All ages are welcome!
Like last year, Corral will be a “poker ride” with a healthy competition for who can make the best poker hand after receiving cards at each of the stops along the ride. Keep your eye out for a bonus segment up to Armstrong Connector where you can get extra cards.
Meet at the Corral parking area at 5:30 p.m. and expect to start riding around 6:00 p.m. After the ride, we’ll party until who knows when. Prizes and rest stop snacks are included with your registration.
We still need volunteers for the event. If you’re interested, please email Amy Fish at amy@TAMBA.org.
Strategic Plan Survey
TAMBA is engaging in a strategic planning process. The goal of this activity is to update TAMBA’s existing planning documents and create a framework to guide TAMBA into the future. To create the best strategic planning document possible, we need your input. This survey should take less than 10 minutes of your time, but your response will be invaluable in making TAMBA better!
Please follow this link to take the survey now.
September Trail Work
Thanks to everyone who joined us for trail days last month. Here’s a bit of what we accomplished in September:
Stanford Rock
Earlier this summer, we built and opened another re-route near the bottom of Stanford Rock. The newest section makes the climb to the amazing upper elevations much easier and more fun. We got a significant amount of rain on the West Shore, which helped compress our berms and hold down the dust.
In September, TAMBA crews moved trail building operations to Stanford Rock summit. We’re building a gorgeous new bike optimized trail from the summit down. The new trail is about 50% complete, but we still need solid volunteer turnouts to finish this year. The late September cold front and snow pushed us down the mountain to a lower elevation section. Trail building season is not over! We’re making a hard push to finish more legacy trail this year.
TAMBA’s volunteer ranks are being supplemented by an ACE trail crew until mid-October. A huge thank you to our generous private donors and Tahoe Trail Bar for underwriting the trail crew.
The new Stanford Rock trail will provide flowy, curvy trail to some of the best views in Tahoe. TAMBA has been working for two years to get to the summit section, so we’re excited to finally arrive at that point in this amazing project. We look forward to Stanford Rock becoming a must-do destination ride in Tahoe.
We have Stanford Rock trail days scheduled for October 6, 12, 13, and 16. See “Upcoming Trail Days” below for details.
