Updates

Member and Volunteer Appreciation Party

Thank you to Heavenly Mountain Resort and staff for hosting our annual Fall Member and Volunteer Recognition Party.  We had an amazing turnout from the local community and celebrated with the showing of an “Everest in Tahoe” and “Mountain State” with Josh Daiek.  What an awesome way to celebrate a great summer season on our Tahoe trails and set the tone for an exciting winter on the local slopes!

Bijou Bike Park

2023 pump track project!

TAMBA has applied for and been awarded two grants for $18,000 toward paving the pump track at the Bike Park.  The pump track is the most popular track in our local community for young riders to learn to ride a bike.  On any day, you will see new riders on strider bikes and bike riders learning new skills on the track.  We will continue fundraising toward our goal of $60,000 to pave the track so that it is accessible for year-round riding.

BMX Track Operator
South Lake Tahoe has an amazing BMX track that has hosted several very successful State Championship events along with a host of very fun weekly races.  Our local BMX track has welcomed many new local riders and racers to bike riding and racing over the years.  Our track is now without an operator for the coming season, so weekly races are unknown at this time.  On behalf of all the upcoming new racers, riders, and local stalwarts, we would like to help spread the word that our track is looking for an operator for the coming season.  You can email us at info@tamba.org, and we will do our best to answer questions or introduce you to the right folks.

Advocacy

Are you in the market for eBike or eMTB? Here are some riding tips and a buying guide with some helpful information about the different classes of e-bikes.  TAMBA is looking forward to the Basin Wide Trails Analysis Project being released by the LTBMU in 2023.  The current proposed action would change 87 miles of trail to allow class 1 e-bike access.  We will update you on its progress as we learn more information from LTBMU.

2023 Trail Projects

We’re deep into planning our trail projects around the Tahoe Basin for next year. We’ll be continuing many of the projects we started this year as well as breaking ground on some exciting new trails.
