SUMMARY:Introduction to Rockwork: Griphoist\, rigging and rockwork training
DESCRIPTION:Join us Tuesday July 2nd for a introduction to rockwork training. We will be going over the basics of dry stone masonry. Teaching attendees how to safely use a griphoist\, rock bars\, and going over the basics of rockwork trail construction (simple rock walls + armoring). Dry stone masonry is the technique used on all of TAMBA’s trails to build wall\, armoring\, steps or any other sort of rock feature. It is called dry stone\, because there is no motor used to hold the rocks together\, just building techniques. \nTAMBA also does all rockwork by hand\, and uses various techniques to move large slabs of granite. In this glass we will focus on the basic concepts of griphoist and rigging work\, and how to safely use a griphoist to move large boulders to build with. We will also touch on the some of the foundations of how to build rock features\, and use rock bars safely and properly. \n  \nWe will be working right out of the parking lot at Diamond Peak Ski Resort\, where we will building the new exit of Lower Tyrolian Downhill trial. Meet at the upper diamond peak parking lot at 9am. \n  \nSign up under training here! \nPlease remember to bring the following: \n– Long Sleeve Shirt \n– Long Pants \n– Helmet (bike ok) \n– Long Finger Gloves \n– Eye protection \n– Sturdy Shoes (over the ankle boots recommended if doing rockwork \n– Food/Snacks for the day \n– Plenty of liquids \n– Backpack \n– Rain gear if thunderstorms are forecasted \nIf you have any questions\, please email TAMBA’s Trail Manager\, Jake Groce\, at Jake@tamba.org \nThank you very much and we look forward to seeing you at the trail day! \n

SUMMARY:Kaspian Rim Volunteer Dig Day
DESCRIPTION:Come join us as we work to finish rerouting the old fire road up to the newly built Kaspian Rim Trail! \nIn 2022\, TAMBA built 1.5 miles of trail called the “Kaspian Rim Trail” connecting Stanford Rock Trail to Kaspian Rocks. Work Location map can be found here Kaspian PP Reroute Jun 2024. \nWe will be working from 9am to 2 pm\, but there is no time commitment required. Meet at the worksite at 9am if possible for the morning briefing\, or find a crew leader (blue helmet) for directions upon arrival. \nSign up here! \nPlease remember to bring the following: \n– Long Sleeve Shirt \n– Long Pants \n– Helmet (bike ok) \n– Long Finger Gloves \n– Eye protection \n– Sturdy Shoes (over the ankle boots recommended if doing rockwork \n– Food/Snacks for the day \n– Plenty of liquids \n– Rain gear if thunderstorms are forecasted \nTAMBA will provide all tools and training necessary! \nIf you have any questions\, please email TAMBA’s Trail Manager\, Jake Groce\, at Jake@tamba.org. \nThank you\, we look forward to seeing you at the trail day!
