SUMMARY:Meeks Ridge Trail Volunteer Day
DESCRIPTION:Come help us rebuild the Meeks Ridge Trail on the West Shore. Join us from 11am – 3pm as we build our way towards Lost Lake. We’ll be refurbishing what used to be an old logging road alignment\, to be a fun multi-use singletrack. Once completed\, this 4-5 miles section of trail will help form an amazing 10-12 mile loop when combined with the rugged Lost Lake and General Creek trails. As of mid-October\, 2022 we’ve made it approximately 1 mile west from Highway 89. Feel free to bring your bike to ride in/out from the project site and try out the completed work! Volunteer days in November are very weather dependent\, so feel free to sign up\, but we’ll be sure to email if it looks like things will be cancelled due to precip/freezing temps. In November we’ll be working from 11am-3pm. \nIf you plan to attend\, please RSVP and fill out our Trail Day waiver . If you plan to bring a minor\, please fill out our minor waiver as well. Please choose Meeks Ridge as the trail location and be sure to select the correct day you plan to attend. \nWe’ll meet here at 9am before heading into the worksite. Please arrive 10-15 min early so you are able to find your way to the trail. If you do arrive late\, feel free to head out the trail to meet us. \nFor any questions\, please email TAMBA’s Outreach Coordinator\, Jake Groce: jake@tamba.org \n\nViews along the Meeks Ridge Trail.\n\n\nApproximate alignment of Meeks Ridge Trail shown in purple. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Road 73 Bypass Trail Volunteer Day
DESCRIPTION:Come help us rebuild the Road 73 Bypass Trail above Tahoe City! Join us from 8:30am – 2:30pm as we work our way from the bottom of Stumpy Super G to the top of The Great Race Trail (Woop-dee-doo). An old alignment used to exist in this vicinity\, but we’ll be rebuilding it in a more sustainable and fun manner. \nTired of having to ride / run / hike on pavement between the trails of Stumpy Super G\, The Great Race Tr. (Whoopdeedoo Tr.)\, and the TRT? Well then this project is for you. It has been 6 years since rebuilding this connection was formally proposed\, and now is the time to make it happen\, but we’ll need your help! \nIf you plan to attend\, please RSVP and fill out our Trail Day waiver .  If you plan to bring a minor\, please fill out our minor waiver as well. Please choose “Road 73 Bypass” as the trail location and be sure to select the correct day you plan to attend. \nWe’ll meet here (Tahoe City Community Center\, 221 Fairway Dr.) at 8:30am before carpooling into the worksite. We will drive up a Forest Service dirt road. All wheel drive vehicles with ground clearance are recommended (Subaru Outbacks can make it). Alternatives are to drive in on the Fiberboard 73 paved road from Brockway Summit (10 miles in on the 73)\, or bike in. Contact john@tamba.org if you choose one of the alternates\, so we know to expect you. \n  \n\nMap above: Green section is what we’ll be working on this year\, and orange is planned for 2023!
